On "Son of a Rich 3" movie, I worked in three roles: Art Director, Concept Artist, and Matte Paint Artist. The main goal was to create realistic, fairy-tale worlds inspired by 17th-century Eastern and Slavic cultures. I also provided art direction support to both the in-house and outsource teams. Selected work:
Eastern city: Developed the visual design and layout of a Turkish city inside and beyond its fortress walls, including the mosque and residential districts. Created final matte paintings for multiple shots, keeping the location cohesive and consistent with the live-action plates.
Volumetric ceiling relief: Replaced a flat painted ceiling with a detailed 3D relief, restoring the original artwork, building the geometry, and preparing render passes. The shot appeared in the film’s main title sequence.
Ships at sea: Designed a solution for moving ships with simulated foam and wakes, then created vessel assets for compositing.
Background replacement: Removed modern buildings and repainted the landscape to make the location feel secluded.
Set extension: Replaced chroma-key areas with realistic houses matched to the original location’s style, lighting, and perspective.
